Top Me Off Kronk

So our little blog is called Texas Kirkwoods primarily because none of the Kirkwood family, except us, live in Texas.  We are the transplants.  Our nearest family on either side is nearly five hours away.  When we relocated to Texas I dreaded the kids growing up with out grandparents living near by.  Thus the little blog was created.

Our family, regardless of where they live, can keep up with our family.  The grandparents could watch the kids growing up on pretty much a daily basis.  This isn't a how to homeschool, parent, church or crafting blog.  It is a little spot where we can share our little world with those we miss and love the most.

Over the years friends have stopped by to visit our blog.  More times than not though, it's been our little family of five who have enjoyed coming back and looking at places we've visited or friends we miss.  As the mom, I love looking back and seeing how much the kids have grown.

Today was another moment of looking at a point in time and no longer seeing the little girl that I began blogging about.  Abigail participates in a Speaker's Club led by a member of Toastmasters.  I'm blown away by her confidence standing and speaking in front of a group. Our speech group and Leadership Training for Christ's Speech program have been a real asset to both of the younger kids.  Her speech isn't without areas of improvement, but when I step back from being her teacher, I really enjoy seeing her as a little girl growing up all too quickly.

Let our sons in their youth be as grown-up plants,
And our daughters as corner pillars fashioned as for a palace
Psalm 144:12
