Anniversary Celebration

Jon and I took one of those very elusive date nights. We were celebrating 28 years tonight! We headed to Twisted Root, Jon's favorite burger joint.  It was fun because there is a Jazz Festival going on in the old part of town and we walked through the festivities.

After dinner we headed to the movies, specifically, Death Wish!  Jon's pick! It's the remake with Bruce Willis and was a fun remake of the 1974 Charles Bronson original.

Graduation Day

This was the big day for the little guys at the church preschool!  They performed for the end of the year program in front of a group of excited parents.  The ceremony concluded with the 4's in caps and gowns walking across the stage as they graduated preschool and headed to kindergarten.  Such an adorable group of boys!

Aren't They Cute?!

So this happened today.  Hmmm, I've been told it's not ok to post details . . . . I think it's safe to say I've seen this coming and I approve.  For any more details you'll need to talk to Abigail!

End of the School Year

The school year is winding down quickly!  We celebrated tonight with our fellow home schooling families from church at the park.  The kids enjoyed croquet and a little baseball while the moms and dads hung out together and enjoyed a few brownies!  It was fun to have the dad's join us this evening!

You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.  Deut. 6:7

Heartfelt Friends

Our sweet Heartfelt Friends meet each month and it is such an encouragement.  Our Heartfelt Mom's host young ladies in the church who are either single or still have school age children.

We get together each month to have dinner and lots of laughter!  We also spend a little time in scripture and singing.  It is such a boost to my week.  These ladies have also been a huge blessing to Frankie.  They love on her and go out of their way every time they see her!    Love their sweet hearts!

HSAA Softball & Baseball Honors

Tonight HSAA (Home School Athletic Association) honored their high school baseball and softball teams.  The players were honored for their achievement over the season and in tournament play.

Abigail was voted 'Most Christ-Like' by her fellow players.  She was also named Division 2 All Tournament Team voted by the coaches at the NACA  tournament.

It was a pretty exciting evening for our Catcher Girl!

NACA Tournament in Tennessee - Day 3

The HSAA Angels spent the morning in tournament play finishing strong and then headed out to dinner to celebrate.  There was a break in play in the middle of the afternoon so Jon and Abigail visited the Dayton courthouse.  Where the Scopes trail took place in 1925.  The case where High school teacher John Thomas Scopes was charged with violating Tennessee's law against teaching evolution instead of the divine creation of man.

NACA Tennessee Tournament - Day 2

In tournament play the girls faced Suffolk Christian Academy and Cross Lanes Christian. They are loving the beautiful Tennessee countryside and the much cooler weather!  I'm thankful that I can watch the game online!

NACA Tournament in Tennesee

Today Abigail and the HSAA Angels played three games!  They faced off against Evangelic Christian, Kings Academy and Suffolk Christian in the NACA tournament in Dayton, Tennessee!  Talk about a long day! My catcher girl caught all three games and loved every minute of it!

Feeling Appreciated

The school year is winding down!  Today the parents and staff hosted a Teacher Appreciation Luncheon.   The lovely Kyle and Barrett donned hula skirts while cooking the hamburgers.  The tables were set up in festive Hawaiian summer decorations.  It was really sweet to be showered with gratitude. It makes the work that much sweeter!

The kids also ran through a rehearsal for their upcoming graduation program.  So cute! Their parents are going to love it!

A Cup of Kindness

Before the girls junior year finishes up we got together for dinner.  We met up at the Heritage Table which is a 1917 converted Victorian home. It's on Main Street Frisco and is a true neighborhood restaurant where you can enjoy a cup of espresso or homemade gourmet dinner.

The girls enjoyed a table on the porch while the mom's enjoyed the cozy air conditioned atmosphere.  It was a lovely evening catching up with friends.  It's hard to believe these four beautiful young ladies will be seniors next year!

Sweet Spirits

I'm loving my time at the preschool as a helper in the 4's class.  It's a very sweet group of eight boys! Yes, all boys!   And they are full of energy and questions!  Every once in a while they slow down for a hug or a high five.

Our church preschool has two 4-year old classes and I'm looking forward to teaching one of them next fall. I'm sure it will be such an adventure!  Abigail has been subbing at the preschool this year and Frankie has been a great help cutting out and laminating material.  I've got a pretty great support staff!

But, did you see those sweet faces, oh my!

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.  Genesis 1:27

HSAA Angels vs John Paul II

The lady Angels took on John Paul II's Cardinals tonight.  This is one of our favorite places to play ball.  The home team is ALWAYS friendly.  Their parents are great and it's just a nice place to play ball.

There is always an announcer and walk up songs for each girl.  Just a lot of fun.  It's also usually a very competitive game.

Abigail had three at bats with two hits!
