Today I ordered t-shirts for the boys for Nationals. Each of the bowling pins looks like the boys, too cute. Can't wait to share them with the kids on Sunday!

President's Day
Today Jon was off work for the holiday. After Bible this morning we packed a lunch and headed to the Dallas Zoo. It was a beautiful day, perfect weather for being outside all day. We rode the carousel, walked through Africa, climbed on rocks, and went to the petting zoo! And in honor of President’s Day we listened to stories of Eleanor Roosevelt, George Washington and Abe Lincoln in the car.
Valentine's Day - Part 2
February 14th, 2008
Ok, so part 2 of the Valentine's Day party was 'Head Wound Abigail!' The kids were digging a hole and Abigail's buddy Roy, knew where the pick ax was kept. A tool that would greatly help in the digging efforts. Since the ax pick was kept up high where Roy could not reach it, Abigail was all to willing to pull it down off the shelf for him. However, she ended up pulling it down, on top of her head! A small would, and lots of blood later, she learned why that wasn't such a good idea!

Valentine's Day
February 14th, 2008
The Duncan's hosted our annual Home School Valentines Day party. We had a great time, making crafts, eating lunch and lots of play time. God blessed us with the perfect weather for our outside adventures. The Terry's, Burrow's, Duncan's, and Matheney's joined the fun. We did mis our friends the Byrd's, Standaford's and the Delzell's!

Dallas Museum of Art Gabriel Orozco's Inner Circles of the Wall
While we were downtown yesterday for the symphony we also stopped by the Dallas Museum of Art. They had several exhibits up that we hadn't seen. It really was strange art. One exhibit was Gabriel Orozco's Inner Circles of the Wall. It was an empty room with broken pieces of drywall, with one circle drawn in pencil on each broken piece. Their was a 'Karaoke killed the DJ' exhibit, Phil Collins, one of a 20' man made of blue chalk looking a 2" plastic figure, titled "Reflections of a Man."
It gave us the opportunity to discuss abstract art! Oh well, next week the J.M.W. Turner exhibit opens and we can see some real artwork!

A Recipe for Music
February 5th, 2008
This was another one of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra’s kid’s performances, titled, "A Recipe for Music." It was great; they demonstrated the 3 ingredient needed to make music: rhythm, melody & harmony. One of the pieces they played was the music from the tornado scene in the Wizard of Oz. The program is put on for magnet schools, private schools, and homeschoolers in the area.

Rec Center
Saturday, February 2nd, 2008
With my recent job change, the kids and I have playing at the Rec Center. Today they played Tennis in the Racquetball while I worked out. Frankie and Jon played ping pong. While we were at the rec center we got Caleb registered for the Minors and Abigail registered for Softball. Jon will be helping with Calebs team this year.
Home Depot Day
Saturday, February 2nd, 2008
Ahh, the first Saturday of the month, must be Home Depot Day. Home Depot has great projects that older kids can build be themselves and younger children can build with the help of a parent. Today the children each built a footbal stool in honor of the up-coming Super Bowl.

Hannah Montana 3-D Concert
February 1, 2008
What a fun day, well if you are a 7-14 year old girly-girl! Today we were able to tickets to the first showing of the Hannah Montana 3-D movie. We had a ball. Abigail was a bit over-whelmed by the sreaming, dancing little girls in the audiance. But she really enjoyed the show! She wore her Hannah Montana t-shirt and hat. Frankie had fun too. I think the Hannah Montana songs were more 'age appropriate' than some of Miley's songs.
After the show, Caleb used my cell to call Jon to let him know that after a trip to mall, watching mom get a haircut and the Hannah Montana show, he needed to go to the batting cages and hit some balls! You know, something 'manly!'
