Softball Tryouts

Everyone knows Texas takes their football very seriously, and if you live in Texas you know they take just about every other sport just as seriously!  This weekend Abigail participated in three days of tryouts for softball.  That is just crazy to me!  We are at the point where recreation leagues don't cover her age group but the organized homeschooling team don't begin for another two years.  She is twelve years old and has been playing of a 14 year old and under team.

She loves softball and wants to play at the higher level but doesn't want to give up piano or drama club or book club or the myriad of other extra-curricular activities which she is involved.  At one of the practices they played for five hours in the Texas heat, she ended up throwing up because she got over heated.  She came home in tears because that may have hurt her chances to make the team.

The momma-bear in me says really!!! She's 12, smacking the ball like no body's business and she puked, got up and went back to swinging! Maybe that's why I sit in the stands and am not on the field!

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might,
