Finding Joy

JOY, that was the theme of our ladies retreat this weekend.

These sweet ladies have got together for 20 years in Bible study and fellowship, and this weekend I was blessed to be included in their group.  Many of these ladies were from The Colony Church of Christ and have had children grow up together.  And although the congregation is no longer here they have stayed in touch.  How wonderful is that!

Several of these sweet ladies attend church at McDermott, and in the it's a small world, one grew up at a congregation with my Uncle Mitchell in Joplin.  Another grew up attending church with a dear friend who is now in Broken Arrow!!!

I know you are wondering what lavish resort we stayed at, right?  Not a resort, this is Ms. Tina's amazing home.  Can you imagine easily fitting ten house guests in your home for the weekend?   Her home was almost as lovely as the company I was with!  And the singing was amazing!

We had a Bible study Friday night and three sessions on Saturday, and lovely singing and communion on Sunday.   One of the ladies has done something like 40 mission trips and it was such a treat to listen to her heart!

So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.
Philippians 2:1-3
