Bountiful Fridays

We're just hanging with our homies on Friday, it's our usual Friday morning pick up at Tom Thumb for the pantry.  Our local Tom Thumb is great about donating all kids of bakery items to our guest.

Each week we pick up two or three shopping carts of goodies.  Other Metro Relief volunteers pick up food at this same store every week day.  This is food they would clearance or just throw out because the bakery only sells items made fresh that day.

The sales value on these two carts would be close to $400.  It a huge benefit to our guests!  Part of this food will go out to the pantry guests on Monday and Wednesday; but the rest of it will go out to the homeless on Friday and Saturday.

Can you imagine if you were struggling to make end meet, needing food assistance and then finding a beautiful birthday cake for your kiddo on the shelves!  I love it when our little moms find such goodies for their kiddos!  Not only does Tom Thumb donate week after week, but so does Papa John's, Starbucks. Olive Garden, and Outback!

These all look to you,
    to give them their food in due season.
When you give it to them, they gather it up;
    when you open your hand, they are filled with good things.
Psalm 107:27-28
