Added to Their Number Daily

What a class full of scholars!  Do you see those sweet smiles, it is a definite highlight of my week every Sunday.  The kids attend Sunday worship and Bible class and then after two and a half hours of 'church' they willingly stay for another hour and a half of  Texas Bible Bowl.

We are studying the book of Acts and today we covered chapter 8.  I  find it fascinating that in Acts 2:38 we're given instructions by Peter to 'repent and be baptized' then in Acts 8:38 we are given the example of the Ethiopian eunuch seeing water and desiring to be baptized.

In neither example was a class or additional studying required.  It was instructed that if you believe in the 'Good News', the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, then immediate action is required.  We then almost simulate what we have believed: we die to self; are buried leaving our sin; and are resurrection as new creations in Christ.

It is so beautiful that the scriptures give us instructions, like Acts 2:38, and then give us practical application of what that looks like, Acts 8:38, so that we can have a completed understanding of what God is calling us to do. Are we called to add to that faith, absolutely those instructions are given in 2 Peter 1:5-15.  But we do not have to know everything to be baptized into the blood of Christ!

And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
Acts 2:47
