HSAA Angels vs. John Paul II

One more scrimmage before the softball season begins, so we are at John Paul II High School in Plano. John Paul II High School is a private Roman Catholic college preparatory high school with about 1,200 students. 

The school has one of the nicest facilities we will play at this year.  The girls are especially appreciative of the heated dugouts early in the season!  

HSAA has upgraded the ability to watch the games live on Game Changer, a mobile app that provides score keeping, stats, Live Game Streams, and recap stories.  The screen capture of Abigail's hit to left field!

HSAA Angels Varsity Clinches Lead In Seventh Inning To Defeat John Paul II
HSAA Angels Varsity took the lead late in the game in an 11-10 victory over John Paul II on Friday. The game was tied at nine with HSAA Angels Varsity batting in the top of the seventh when an error scored two runs for HSAA Angels Varsity.

Abigail Ratliff led HSAA Angels Varsity to victory by driving in four runs. She went 3-for-4 at the plate. Ratliff drove in runs on a single in the second, a single in the sixth, and a single in the seventh.
HSAA Angels Varsity took an early lead in the second inning. HSAA Angels Varsity scored one run when Abigail Kirkwood singled.

John Paul II scored four runs in the fourth inning. John Paul II batters contributing to the big inning included #16, Molly, and #3, all driving in runs in the inning.

Sarah Durham toed the rubber for HSAA Angels Varsity. She lasted four innings, allowing 11 hits and eight runs while striking out one and walking one.

Molly toed the rubber for John Paul II. She allowed 14 hits and seven runs over five innings, striking out one. #6 threw two innings in relief.

HSAA Angels Varsity racked up 17 hits. Kirkwood, Ratliff, Ryleigh Horton, Kaitlyn Callaway, and Elise Bonenberger all collected multiple hits for HSAA Angels Varsity. Ratliff and Kirkwood all had three hits to lead HSAA Angels Varsity.

Pretty cool, right!  Tonight was a good battle, with the Angels batting their full rooster and finishing off with an 11-10 win!  Here is a short clip of one of Abigail's hits from tonight.
