Christmas Morning

Christmas mornings look a little different now that the kids are older.  The days of them running down stairs at five in the morning have long passed.  This morning I turned on all the Christmas lights, started a Christmas CD, baked sausage balls & cinnamon rolls and still nothing.  No sign of children.  So, being ever resourceful I sent the 130 lb English Mastiff to go wake the kids.  As you see in the picture at the top of the stairs they were thrilled!

It turned out to be one of the best Christmases, just the five of us spending a lazy, stress free day together.  Most of the cooking I had finished yesterday so we just hung out opened gifts, snacked and enjoyed being together.

Sissy finished a puzzle and there was a spirited game of War with Dr. Who Cards.  If you look carefully there was even a sighting of the Grinch on Christmas day.

We missed being with our family but as the possible last Christmas with Caleb home, I could not have asked for a more peaceful day. Blessed!

Surely you have granted him unending blessings
and made him glad with the joy of your presence. Psalm 21:6
