First Friday Thrive

The first Friday of the month means we are packing fruits and veggies for the church's Thrive ministry.  Members of the church meet up at the Avenue F congregation to pack up one hundred and forty bags of fresh produce for residents in low income housing in McKinney.

Each bag is filled in an assembly line process and includes contact information for the congregation along with an invitation to the World Bible Study with McDermott members.  Two of the boys that Abigail has been babysitting joined us today, Malachi and Noah.  Noah wanted to ride the church van so he could hang out with Abigail.

We had the perfect weather for being outside today.  Malachi, Noah and Abigail even checked out play ground equipment at the park where we distribute the food. At one point I looked over and the girl was traveling across the monkey bars.

Better to be a poor person who has integrity than to be rich and double-dealing. Proverbs 28:6
