Take Me Back to Tulsa

Nothing cries out Spring Break fun like a family funeral.  Abigail is in the midst of her softball tournament in Fort Worth when we got the news that Dad's cousin Joyce passed away.

The family held a memorial service so I made a day trip up to Tulsa for the services.  Uncle David officiated the memorial.  Joyce was between Dad and David's age.  Joyce's father Gene and my grandfather Elmo, were brothers.

It was good to see cousins and family members even under the sad circumstances. I was very grateful that Caleb was home for spring break and could share with the driving.

Since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. Hebrew 12:1-2
